In the footsteps of Moses, climbing Mount Sinai

The shadow of Mount Sinai stretches across the valley at the foot of the Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. Catherine in the Sinai peninsula some 240 miles southeast of Cairo. The steeple from a church inside the monastery is seen at right. The monastery, founded in the 4th century in this isolated setting, attracts thousands of visitors and pilgrims from all over the world every year.
