Apply For Help With Medication – Drug Companies Are Easing Up on Restrictions

Recently laid off from her job and suffering from Ms and asthma, Susan Clark faces a bunch of challenging issues. As soon as she lost her job in Detroit a few months ago, she lost her insurance, also, and some of her medication cost a lot.

“Having to pick between food, house payments, and the utilities|power|gas bill|electric bill, I every so often do not choose my medication,” the 25 -year-old exclaimed. She should not be skipping her medication as it leaves her out of breath and light headed.

After contacting an independent prescription assistance company, she is fully on her direction to receiving the prescription drug help that she desires. The recession and the political debate over health care restructuring have caused several of the pharmaceutical organizations to loosen up their program procedure.
Like the majority pharmaceutical companies Merck for example, operates a prescription assistance program that offers medicines, for free, to folks who meet the requirements. You must have no healthcare insurance or your healthcare insurance coverage is laughable. A few months back Merck increased the earnings guidelines from 200 % of the federal poverty level to 400 percent.

Two other organizations, Pfizer Inc. and AstraZeneca P.L.C., just announced they would loosen their guidelines and allow jobless persons to sign up, regardless of how much

they used to make. They still need to give evidence that they are out of work.

Bureaucracy remains a chief problem, however, because several persons require medication from a number of companies and each company has their own form that you must fill out. It’s often a tough process and each pharmaceutical company is a little different. As a rule companies call for the medical doctor to take part in the process and on the whole still require proof of earnings. Denials for not finishing the long forms acceptably are not unusual.

The Partnership for Prescription Assistance, an industry-sponsored group, states it has helped over 5,1  million individuals over the last four  years uncover programs that assist people without coverage get their prescription drugs for free.
At present, she uses several different ways to obtain the help with prescriptions that she wants. She buys one  of the generic medication she needs at Sam’s club for $4 each, per month and 3  of the especially expensive brand name drugs she gets for free directly from the drug company.

She is still looking for employment and admits “I’ll take on anything”. The final time she worked was in the fitting department for the gas company. Still, she is fortunate to have some help.”I am without a job and I have no insurance” she said. “Being able to find help with prescription medicine is amazing.”
