If the U.S.A is brash, bold and loud, Canada is it’s cool cousin, understated, sophisticated and more popular with the right people. This is an edgy declaration but Canada really is a diluted mirror image of the USA, and it’s all the better for it. America has serious health problems, with over half of the population being overweight and at risk of serious disease, the country is creaking under the strain of its own greed. Crime is also an issue, although big cities such as New York have cracked down in the past ten years, the widespread availability of firearms mean shootings are an all-too-common cause of death. America certainly has its problems.
Canada however comes with all grandeur and scale of the U.SA (its actually the second largest country in the world) but with a delicate sprinkling of class and culture which is why Canada holidays are really taking off. It’s incredibly diverse both geographically and culturally, with the French speaking region encompassing
Montreal and Quebec in the south east of the country offering a spot of joire de veire in amongst all the quasi-American accents. There are great beaches as well as award winning ski resorts, vast flat plains and rugged mountain terrain, big cosmopolitan city breaks on offer like Toronto holidays as well as quaint towns and villages, Canada really does have it all.
There are a wide choice of visitor attractions, Niagra falls perhaps being the most well-known. The Rocky Mountains are another natural wonder where you can explore the Rockies by rail, running down the western side of the country all the way up to Alaska. Man made cultural monuments are also spread across the pleasant land, Toronto with its CN building, one of the world’s tallest lies in the East of the country with Vancouver in the West, named as the best place to live in the world 2008.
