So how can you tell the best noise cancelling headphones? ‘Best’ is so personal and there are a lot of criteria and conditions that will yield if the headphones are best. Since these type of headphones are noise cancelling, then that should be the most important variable right? I mean if they are top notch for everything else, but sucked at noise cancelling, then how could the headphones be listed as ‘best’ noise cancelling headphones?

I believe it is really a mixture of many features that will yield if a headphone is best. Noise cancelling capacity is key since that’s the kind of headphones we’re looking for, but what about how they feel when we wear them, what about toughness, what about keeping up with the changing tech environment, etc. There are so many variables.

But for me, what would I look for? Noise cancelling is going to be top of the list, but cost is a huge factor too for many people because it’s possible that they do not need to have all the background noise removed

Maybe I just want to diminish it considerably, enough so that I can think and not be disturbed by the background noise. For me, these type of headphones might be ‘best’ for me, but not for you. There we go again. It is subjective.

So it appears to me that there can be many ‘best’ noise cancelling headphones out there, each with their own set of criteria. Noise Cancelling would be the ultimate criteria since that is what we are looking for, but another would be practical noise cancelling for the cost, one could be how it feels when wearing and noise cancelling ability and one could be the toughness and the noise cancelling ability, etc. Sure noise cancelling needs to be the main criteria, but it has to be coupled with other criteria to determine ‘best’ and I feel there can be several ‘best’ noise cancelling headphones out there.

My goal is to find these best noise cancelling headphones and categorize them based on each of these criteria so that you can find the ‘best’ one for you based on what you really want out of noise-cancelling headphones.
