Getting Your Car Repaired In Bristol – How To Find The Best Mechanic

When it comes to finding a mechanic to carry out car repairs in Bristol it is not exactly the hardest thing in the world. However, finding one that you can trust to carry out car repair and that you are confident isn’t going to rip you off is something else all together. Here are a few tips on how to find a good Bristol car mechanic.

Usually the best thing to do first is to ask around friends and family to see if the can offer any recommendations based on any good experiences that they have had in the past. There are still plenty of car mechanics online and in the yellow pages, if you don’t manage to get any positive recommendations from anyone.

Once you have found a good selection of car mechanics either from recommendations or from your own research, the next thing to do is give them all a call.  Some of the things it is important to find out are. How much they charge for labour per hour?

Do they charge jobs based on how long the job takes or by how long the book says it should take? (Try to go with a mechanic who charges for the time it takes them to do the job, as it almost always works out cheaper). How long are you going to have to wait until the can fit you in? And, how long will it take to repair the car? Ask if you can see a list of references, if they are any good they should have no problems with this request.

Price is always a big factor when it comes to deciding which mechanic to choose. To get the best idea fof how much the job is going to set you back you shoud try to get 3 or 4 quotes. This will let you know that you aren’t going to be paying over the odds for any work you get done.  Bare in mind though; the cheapest option might not always be the best option, if it means you are going to have to wait 2 weeks for them to fit you in.
