We were all excited when Pet Airways finally took flight earlier this year, but since then, things have been pretty quiet. The airline has just been doing its thing, and business must be strong, as theyve announced a new stop for furry friends just in time for the holidays. There will be a new weekly route to Ft. Lauderdale starting on December 22. This means sending Fido and Whiskers down to the Sunshine State for the winter wont be a problem at all.
In addition to expanding their operations, the airline has been doing some charity work as well. After all, nothing warms the spirit more than pets being rescued during the holiday season. The airline whisked about 50 dogs from puppy mills in Missouri and brought them to New York in hopes of helping them find some new homes. The mission took place on Thanksgiving and was called Operation Thanksgiving Day Flight to Freedom. Aww, how nice.
